Putting Together A Bamboo Fountain

You should consider using a bamboo fountain to liven up your garden. These unique types of fountains were first developed in Japan where they were used to chase deer away from the fields of rice paddies. It isn’t surprising that they were called “deer chasers”.
Additionally, monks would use the bamboo fountain as a method for measuring the length of their mediations. With more people aware of the environment, the bamboo fountain is getting more attention since it is made of environmentally friendly material. This fact does not detract from the fountain’s clear aesthetic charm. Another perk is that the bamboo fountain is flexible enough to use indoors as well as outside.
If you want to build your own bamboo fountain, all you need are few simple pieces. You will need bamboo, tubing, a pump, a base, rod, screws, and container. For outdoor bamboo fountains, you should use strong bamboo that can withstand various weather conditions. When the bamboo fountain will be used inside, you may want to make it more attractive by polishing the surface. Other tools needed to build your own bamboo fountain include a screwdriver, wood saw, and a drill machine.
Once you’re ready to build, you should begin by cutting the bamboo sticks to the preferred length. You should have three big bamboo sticks. Two sticks will secure the moving part of the fountain while another will be connected to the nozzle. The moving part of the bamboo fountain will gather and remove water once the water collected increases to certain level. All three bamboo pieces will need to have holes drilled through the centers. These holes will accommodate the rod that allows the fountain to pivot.
You will take the pipe and link it from your water pump and up the center of the bamboo stick. The pipe will be capped by a bamboo nozzle. Now that this is all done, you can mount the fountain to a base. The bamboo fountain is in working order when it continues cycling water through the moving part, out of the spout and back in again.
If you’ve read this and realize you don’t want to build a bamboo fountain this way, you can always buy an easy-to-install kit at a home and garden center.
It is good to know how to do maintenance on your bamboo, should you build one. Maintenance focuses on two areas. The first is how you care for the water pump. The pump must be kept underwater when in operation. It must be cleaned on a regular basis. Bamboo fountain care is also about replacing the water regularly. With fountains that run all the time, this cycle will be less frequent, but water should be to avoid foul smell due to stagnation.
